Green poha chutney is an instant breakfast or snack recipe made up of ultra thin poha mixed with thick green masala. This dish is a good accompaniment with sev or channa usli or moong dal usli. We have already demonstrated the other variant of poha chutney before. In this variant we have shown poha chutney made up of green ingredients. Both the variant taste too good and is a handy recipe for both working women and bachelors who are in hurry and crave for home made food.

Author’s note on making Green Poha Chutney:
Hello all, as promised, I am here with one more variant of Poha chutney. This time it is made up of green ingredients, hence the name green poha chutney. This dish too is an instant one and tastes equally good with the former Poha Chutney. The best part of this dish is, one can prepare the chutney paste much in advance and use it whenever needed. This is quite easy and time saving as well. So it is ideal for those who have a busy schedule and don’t get enough time for cooking, especially working women.
There is no much suggestion I would like to give on this recipe as it is so simple. But make sure you are using ultra thin poha. Moreover this dish tastes too good with sev, chana usli or moong dal usli. I will be posting these recipes very soon here. I hope you will try this recipe. Green Poha Chutney | Green pova chatni
Ingredients
- 125g Flattened rice Ultra thin poha
- 75g (1 cup) Grated coconut
- 100g Jaggery
- 4 Nos Green chili
- 25g (2 tbsp) Coriander seeds
- 6g (1/2 tsp) Mustard Seeds
- 10-12 leaflets Curry Leaves
- 12g (1 tbsp) Cooking Oil for tempering
- Salt as per taste
Instructions
- Take 100g jaggery, 2 tbsp coriander seeds and 4 Nos green chili in a mixer jar. Do not add water. When you blend jaggery it will turn juicy and is enough to make the paste.
- Blend it to form thick paste.
- This paste can be refrigerated upto a week and can be used whenever required.
- Now take a big mixing bowl, add 1 cup (75g) grated coconut. Then add 2 tbsp of the paste we prepared and add salt as per taste
- Mix it well and keep it aside.
For tempering
- Put 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds in 1 tbsp cooking oil. Heat till it splutters.
- Add 10-12 curry leaves and stir for a while
- Add the tempered mixture to the mixing bowl
- Mix all the ingredients well.
- Now add a bowl (125g) full of ultra thin flattened rice.
- Mix it gently with hands. See that poha doesn't break. Mix it till all the poha blends properly with the mixture.
- That's all. Tasty and instant green poha chutney is ready to eat. Serve it with lot of love and care.
