Ingredients
  

  • 400g (2 cups) Wheat Flour
  • 300g (1.5 cup) Sugar finely powdered
  • 200g (1 cup) Ghee
  • 10g (1 tsp) Cardamom Powder
  • 25g (2 tsp) Dry Raisins

Method
 

  1. Take 200g Ghee in a bowl (1 cup approx) and put 3-4 tsp ghee out of it in a hot pan
  2. Put 2 tsp dry raisins and roast it. Then keep it aside.
  3. Pour the remaining ghee to the pan and heat it. Don't use excess ghee.
  4. Once the ghee is hot add 2 cups (400g) of wheat flour
  5. Roast it on a medium flame till the raw smell of wheat flour goes off. You can smell the roast aroma once it is done.
  6. Now add half tsp cardamom powder and mix it well
  7. Now switch off the flame and allow the pan to cool for a minute. Do not completely cool it. Now add one and half cup powdered sugar (300g) to it.
  8. Mix it well
  9. Add the roast raisins to the mixture. Adding raisins is optional. You can avoid this if you want.
  10. Now knead all the ingredients. See that the mixture is still hot. Wear gloves if you can't resist heat.
  11. Now make spherical balls to form Laddus. Repeat it for rest of the mixture.
  12. Delicious, tasty Churmundo is ready.

Notes

  • The shelf time of this sweet is about 1 week to 10 days. Do not refrigerate it, just store in a air tight container.
  • You can make plain laddus without adding any dry fruits.
  • If you are fond of dry fruits then you can add raisins, cashew, almonds, pistachios. Just roast it in the beginning as shown.
